It was nice watching it grow to adulthood.
  • Was an explanation necessary? Did I need to see a close up of the guy in his vehicle giving the explanation?
  • Beavers are a close family unit it probably was ok with the little one taking it.

    Didn't watch the video.

People experience a very strange urge to put their faces and hobbies onto YouTube. I don't get it. This definitely didn't need to be 8 minutes of this guy on camera. Just the beaver clips with a few subtitles would have been fine, and a lot more watchable.

Unlimited ability to record video is hurting our ability to communicate. Every tutorial and explanation is a video now instead of simple articles or narratives. A couple years ago, I had trouble figuring out what size socket I needed to access my cabin air filter. I figured hey, I can probably just find instructions online... nope, just fifteen minute videos with bad lighting and audio. And after slogging through three of them, one of the idiots finally mentioned tracking down a 4.5mm socket. The job itself took less than two minutes once I had the right tool. Once upon a time, that would have been a three paragraph article with a couple still photos and a bullet-point list of tools.
