I was going to say I've seen similar designs around and depending on the condition $40-60 is retail. If the buyer got it for less than $20, he did alright.

When I cruise thrift shops I look for ashtrays. I'm not counting on a return, I just know that there are very few being made now and ones that were ubiquitous in my youth, motels and even fast food places, are hard to come by. Meanwhile, these "candy" dishes take up a whole aisle.
