I like Obama. I loathe Hillary. But too often lately the press has seemed like they are working directly for Obama's campaign -- when they wrote a story on the "major Republican movement to Obama," and cited a bunch of people nobody's ever heard of. Now this.
Sorry, this "We Are the World," "Kumbaya," look-at-me Hollywood pretentious stuff doesn't inspire me. It turns me off.

The video wasn't about "Listen to what WE have to say" it was about "Listen to what HE has to say."
It is HIS words that are inspirational.
You think any other candidate could pull this thing off? No. There is simply no denying that Obama wins the "ability to inspire people" category hands down.
And being an inspirational leader is a great, great ability to have in your President. Lincoln had it. Kennedy had it. Churchill had it. Obama has it.
generaltimmy:Superbowl did not take any political ads.
TommyBahama:while i couldnt watch the game, from what i remember they were not allowing any political ads
Oh yeah, that too.
I support Obama (out of the viable candidates. Otherwise, he's third behind first place Gravel and second place Paul) for my own reason. The video's just cool and really inspirational, as was his speech (which was possibly more so). So stop pretending like celebrities endorsing him are the only thing that's nice about the video.

bush has it, but its the kind of inspiration that makes me want to strangle a puppy.
DarnoKonrad:Should have bought a slot on Super Bowl. It's a good video.
Money would have been better spent with a 20 second ad that said:
1: I'm Christian you asshats 2: Not that I have a problem with Muslims 3: I put my hand on my heart for the pledge of allegiance 4: not because someone tries to shame me in doing it for other reasons 5: fark you Rush "Magic Negro" Limbaugh

So I'll listen to him say it. What's the importance of the Hollywood types mimicking it?
This strikes me the same way as those "The More You Know" spots on NBC -- Josh from "West Wing" telling me to be a mentor and I might be as good of a person as he is. You go be a mentor, you pretentious fark.

It's just a fun, inspiring music video. That's all there is to it.
Christ some people are whiny asses when it comes to anything politics.

Sorry if I quoted you above. I wasn't directing that specifically at you as much as the rest above.

Wow, so celebrities are telling me who to vote for? That'll motivate me.
Here in San Diego we were treated to a Mitt Romney, and several for the state propositions about more slot machines on local reservations.
I was surprised by the non-HD quality of the Romney ad (it was really jarring, seeing the games and all the other commercials in HD, and then here's this low-res ad. Like a turd on a clean white sheet.) And surprised by the fact we got any politcal ads during the Superbowl. I've never seen that before. Then again, our primary hasn't ever been this early in the year.

30 seconds spot = $3,000,000
Video = 4:30
Triple point $27,000,000, and a lot of people would have just switched it.
Plus, it was produced WAY after the deadline for Super Bowl ads.

Someone has to pay the credit card bill that the GOP has run up on us. It's called "Fiscal Responsibility." The GOP used to know what that term means.

It seems like most people's voting process goes something like: "Hrm, I want to fark Scarlett so I should vote Obama!"
It'd be funny if it weren't so tragically true.
