Coming back from my Antarctic deployment this year, I shared a C17 with 12 juvenile emperor penguins that were headed to sea world. I asked the handler isn't taking penguins from Antarctica a breach of the Antarctica Treaty? She told me that they only took individuals that had been abandoned by their parents and were statistically likely to die. Didn't really answer my question. I will say that this was the only time in 4 deployments that I flew home with penguins. Rather unique experience.

That seems incredibly dangerous and irresponsible to me. Did the penguins go through the TSA security checkpoints? Did they all get body scanned? How do we know that at least one of those penguins is not an angry Muslim who hates America and our freedoms? Yeah, penguins are cute, but it wouldn't be so funny if one of them rammed a 747 into a skyscraper.
