  • Every story has two sides, and we only have the ousted teachers side.
  • Why is she bringing the baby to school? How is that even allowed?

Not to mention that schools are epidemiological jacuzzis roiling with everything from influenza to colds to rampant infectious bacteria on every goddamned surface. It's not necessary to shelter babies from diseases, but there's no need to dunk them head first in viral sewage.

Pump the milk. Give the baby a bottle. Enjoy your nipple suckling when you get home.

Jeez louise, this isn't so hard.
  • Something tells me she was milking those 15 minute breaks.

  • What's with the impossibly out-of-focus picture? Is she related to bigfoot?

She's not. She was requesting time during the day to pump her breast milk and for a private area to do so. Both are mandated by California law.
  • i would offer some help here .. but this is way out of my line of expertise..

She could use formula. It's much more convenient, in any case.

Breast milk is better for babies than formula. And amongst other things, it's easier for the baby to digest than formula. Also, if you're breastfeeding a baby it's important to pump the milk whenever necessary when you're away from home and your baby isn't with you. This ensures an adequate milk supply

And finally, you cannot train your breasts to produce milk when it's convenient for your boss or whomever. When a woman's breasts are full of milk they will leak if you don't breastfeed your baby or pump the milk.

She could get one of those pumping bras that hold the cups in place and just pump hands free as she teaches.
  • Here's to women staying home and raising their babies.

    Cheers!

Barefoot, not doubt. 1/10. You weren't even trying
  • I pumped at work for almost three months. I had to do it in a bathroom stall, and I was no longer allowed to take a lunch break. And the HR director harassed me constantly about it. People are a-holes when it comes to pumping at work. And formula wasn't an option when she was very small, because she had terrible reflux and would spit it all back up. It would be easier if women got more time off to be with th child in the first place, but no one seems interested in changing that (GASP, socialism!!!).

I really did 'laugh out loud' when I read that. - I'm STILL laughing.
  • Does she have to stop making lemonade and fudge 'round the corner too?
  • All this could have been averted if she hadn't knocked herself up in the first place.
