  • Too bad the author couldn't bother to actually add any insight into the search terms.

    Why is iPhone
    1) ...5 better
    2) ...5 sold out
    3) ...5 taking so long

    My interpretations:
    1) iPhone user's wanting to know if it's worth upgrading their current iPhone.
    2) Users wondering why iPhone are back-ordered.
    3) Probably because it's back-order, but could be people wondering when the announcement was going to come.

How dare they question their Apple Overlords, but I'm failing to see the smug.

Here's what I get for 'Why is Android'
    Better than iOS
    Better
    Better than Apple

From these results, I conclude that Android users are in doubt of the failing Android platform, therefore Apple has won. Steve Jobs has risen.
  • I got: "why is iphone so slow" as my second response. Nothing smug about that.

  • And for that, the author collects a paycheck??

    FYI... Why is Fark......Down
  • I have two auto-fills that made me want to commit suicide:

I was searching for how do I find something or another in Skyrim. I typed in "how do I" and the first auto fill suggestion was "How do I have sex with my sister". Another time, a work friend was looking up something about a light bulb and he typed in "why are there" and the first auto fill was "why are there ants crawling out of my butt". Wtf?
  • I can already tell this will be a rational and calm discussion about personal preferences

  • With "Why is my hair falling out" and "Why is yawning contagious" as two of the most popular searches there, the demographic here may be somewhat unreliable.
  • Why does anyone

    ...care
    ...give a flying fark
...act likes such a basement-dwelling geek
  • Autofill is fun to use with questions like "Why are {insert race here}" and letting google do its thing
  • Instead of "Why is", try "Why does" and you'll get a completely different set of autofills.

So in your world, it's impossible to see "Why is Android better..." as the question of a customer checking out options? Nah. Couldn't be.

  • I have no delusions as a blackberry USER (not a "fan"). I don't need a device that can play iTunes and Netflix for my business. I don't need any apps. In fact I've never seen an app that I thought I could use for business except for Saleforce which is available for the BB. I need a tool that I can pump out 40-50 emails a day on with zero typos and at 40 words a minute. The best device for that at this time is the Blackberry due to its keyboard. If someone can solve the KB problems on touch screens then it's possible I would go in that direction. It has nothing to do with fandom and everything to do with efficient use of my working time.

look into SwiftKey for Android. I thought the same way you did at one point, but now I can type twice as fast as I used to on my BlackJack (hardware keyboard) with my Captivate (touchscreen keyboard)
  • xynix: "If someone can solve the KB problems on touch screens"

It seems everyone has largely given up and are trying to solve the text entry problem with cloud-driven voice conversion.
Which is great and all, except that it completely falls apart for composing anything more than small snippets of text, which is precisely where touch keyboards are such a problem in the first place.
(Not to mention dictation being innately undesirable in many situations.)

    Which is to say: goddammitsomuch.

/ though I get more out of apps and a good browser than I do a good keyboard
// it'd still be nice to have a good keyboard
/// asetniop looks promising, but it's a 'tablet' solution at best; not really relevant to phones
//// and even then, likely a 10" tablet solution

How quaint. I love my iPhones audio keyboard.
