  • Irish Examiner? Like I care what a bunch of drunken micks have to say about this. Go fight each other over your short dicks, paddy!
  • This is the first I've heard of discrimination against the Black Irish.
  • Any time somebody uses words like "honky" or "cracker" I like to yell back "Hey! That is OUR word, and you got no right using it!"

Then, after an awkward silence, they ask "Can you pass the Ritz C-words?"
  • I lived in Cork for years.. There was never any racism there except they didn't care for black people that came in from Africa a month before they were due and popped out a kid. Once that law was changed they didn't seem to mind Africans at all. Fairly tolerant people frankly unless your English or call Ireland "part of the UK" like a dumbass yank. Maybe it's become a new thing though since the Celtic Tiger is dead and people are hurting for money. Immigrants would certainly be a target to cast blame at instead of their own incompetent government.

When I moved there trying to get farking ANYTHING done was a feat. Gas, water, electricity, all a royal biatch to get hooked up right. It takes 3 farking years to build a house there because of all the incompetence. That's not racism or discrimination if 100% of the people are affected by the morons that run their utility system. I had to live in a hotel for 3 months while a finished house I had just purchased was "plugged into the system."

They have a very serious credit system there as well and I had to have 3 banks and 2 previous landlords (we're talking 10+ years of documentation) to get a mortgage. Once that was done I needed similar stuff to get the rest of the crap hooked up. Moving overseas means your entire financial history is useless.
  • Damn, one of my favorite parts about Ireland is the lack of whiny minorities. This article disappoints.
  • You're supposed to report racism?

Yeah, f*ck those filthy potato-eating papists!
  • Fail to report racism TO WHOM? THIS JUST IN, I KNOW RACIST PEOPLE.
  • Racism is so 1950's. These days, all the cool kids are some flavor of phobic: homophobic, Islamophobic, hydrophobic, etc.
  • Bunch of crying Papists.
  • You expect me to deal with issues of racism??? I am still trying to mind bleach the fact that I now know what Nordic LARPing is thanks to the Geek Tab!! Racism....Fark me!
  • Next thing you know, they'll be letting in the Irish. Bloody hell will ensue.
  • What? I'm constantly being reported for racism. I bet it's the blacks and the jews telling on me.

I heard The Wild Hunt is a cool movie, albeit creepy and similar to the 'D&D is satanic' Tom Hanks movie of the 80s.
  • Treygreen13: You're supposed to report racism?

As a dumbass yank, skateboarding Cali nutjob and a cracker-ass cracker, I wondered the same thing.

Someone made fun of me because I don't tan. To whom shall I report this racist, white person hating horror?
  • FTA:

The report will be launched by hurling legend Seán Óg Ó hAilpín today.

"Initial predictions suggest Seán will scream something unintelligible and throw the report at a wall."

Oh wait till you come back to the States (if you ever come back). Your financial history in Ireland or wherever will also be utterly useless AND there is a high chance you will be regarded by US credit agencies as no more trustworthy than some deadbeat who recently declared personal bankruptcy.

US financial system doesn't take kindly to folks who "dissappear" for a few years and were working for foreign employers. Something I am learning now. Yay!!!
  • I know people that are trigots.

I have relatives who actually build long ships. For fun. I was born in California, so I do not understand the Norwegian mindset a lot of the time, but I can tell you that long ships are teh KEWL! I still wouldn't run around the woods with a battle axe while invoking Odin under his name "Valfar", Viking heritage (mom is straight outta Norway) or not. That sort of thing just doesn't seem too smart to me. You sure ain't getting me to drag a long ship to the next river, either. I'll be at the smoothie stand, thanks.

    /urban wussie, I know
//totally down for kuub tournaments and axe throwing contests though
///got my own drinking horn and everything!
  • Just who the hell am I supposed to "report" racism to? Some other dumbass racist?

People who I used to respect often ruin it by talking and acting all racist around me then acting like I should be too.

I'm sick of assholes always trying to tell me about "Those damn Mexicans" this and "stinkin' Jews" that and then getting mad at me when I don't back up their ignorant, bigoted thoughts.

Sorry I don't hate minorities like you, Racists. Sorry I'm not an ignorant asshole like you, now please STFU about "The Blacks" already you dickhead

In fact it wasn't that bad coming back.. I came back 5 years later and still had a decent credit rating of around 700 even though I had been inactive for 5 years. One thing I did was maintain two US bank accounts including an Etrade bank/moneymarket/stock account so I was never really "inactive." I simply used my parents address since they don't want to do business with ex pats.
