  • I hate videos that are linked but not labeled as such :/

This IS a video from TWC.

But I clicked through the links to come up with this summary

  • No, it's not evidence of climate change. Just like a giant snowstorm isn't evidence that there ISN'T global climate change.

    Weather ≠ Climate.

You can't use the same logical fallacies as the climate change deniers and expect to be taken seriously, subby.

As a climate change denier, I applaud your common sense and intelligence in pointing this out, sir.

Now, GET YOUR COMMON SENSE AND INTELLIGENCE OFF MY FARK!

    But they're related, no?

Weather is an aspect of climate so it does make sense that we see weather patterns consistent with climate change modeling.
  • As I type this it is December 2 and I am wearing shorts while sitting on my front porch. As mentioned above, warm weather does not equal global warming. It is, however, a small part of the average global temperature.
  • I don't know about climate change, but linking to auto-play videos should get subby a punch in the dick.
  • A big pile of NO for Subby.

However, I did just have my porch door open for a few hours on December farking 1st, which is all kinds of wrong.
  • So, the reverse of the derp of "it's snowing in Georgia so climate change is a lie!" is somehow true?
  • ecmoRandomNumbers: No, it's not evidence of climate change. Just like a giant snowstorm isn't evidence that there ISN'T global climate change.

No, this is not true. It is not PROOF of climate change, but this is evidence of climate change.
  • That's why they're called "averages", not "maximums"
  • I have my AC on. It's 78 degrees outside. Even for Texas, this is ridiculous.
  • PC LOAD LETTER: " So, the reverse of the derp of "it's snowing in Georgia so climate change is a lie!" is somehow true?"

No. It's just a little troll judo. The old derp didn't get responses, so they've inverted it to troll the other "side".
  • I've been out on my back patio drinking beer and smoking a big rack of pork ribs on December 2nd, so I'm getting a big kick out of these replies...

/To be fair, I live in southern New Mexico, so I could do that about any year, but 75 outside instead of 65 is nice.
  • I haaaaaaaaate this. Usually at this time of year the park next door is COMPLETELY deserted and me and my dog are running through the woods and he is chasing snowballs. But noooooo there are like 40 people there playing BASEBALL and shiat. And it is WARM like my throat got parched running around.

I want ice and snow and snow and snow. People who live here and can't stand 35 degree "cold" weather need to move south. Or man up. If you think 35 degrees is cold and you have lived in the midwest all your life then PLEASE invest in some warm clothes and do some work to warm you up.

It wouldn't be so shiatty if we weren't in such a severe drought. But the way it is now every creek is dried up and our lakes are super low- everything is dead, there is no weather, no mud, no snow- I feel like I'm living in a boring post-apocalyptic world.
  • ecmoRandomNumbers: Weather ≠ Climate.

Climate is the accumulation of tons and tons of weather from around the world for a period of many years. One event like this in one day in a limited part of the world is like trying to judge the entire history of a baseball franchise on one random at bat.
  • Temperatures 20 degrees above average across many US cities. But this is, in no way, meant to be evidence of climate change

I love how America is still supposed to be provided with a "Gotcha" moment involving climate change.

Doesn't matter if 97% of science has already told us what's happening.

Seriously, if you're just joining this troll thread discussion, there is no debate about whether man-made climate change is happening.

The debate involves what we should be doing about addressing it.  Going on what, 35 years now?
  • I don't know about climate change, but the weather sucks. 30 degrees above average for almost a week now, and the drought's so bad we're worried the river won't allow for barge traffic by the end of the month.
  • Just as us being 15 F *below* normal for 3 days is no way meant to be evidence against climate change.
  • 61 degree in San Francisco yesterday. That's warm for summer. (I kid, but really it is warmer than normal here.)
  • It is 49 at the moment in Bangor, Maine and last night we had snow and freezing rain. The night before that it was 12. Yes, the weather is acting a tad crazy.
  • ecmoRandomNumbers: No, it's not evidence of climate change. Just like a giant snowstorm isn't evidence that there ISN'T global climate change.

Correct. But you CAN point out that if you are 27 or younger, you've never experienced a colder than average month and have it mean something.

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of deniers who will happily ignore that statistic...

No, but you can use it to troll the derp from both sides. Which it appears that subby has done and the mods seem to approve. On the plus side, I think I'll win either way this comes out. I'm far enough above sea level for ice caps melting for it to not matter and if it does nothing I'm not spending anymore money than I normally would. On top of that, if it does warm up, it's likely I'll get new places to explore, which is kind of cool. New species will come about (yay evolution), and the world will continue on.
  • Portland checking in. It's raining, gray, and cold.
  • No, there's no climate change, it's normal... coming off a record low year for snow here, and now it's 50 degrees in the High Rockies in frickin December... ya, perfectly normal, there were never ski resorts out here... it was all just an illusion.

/power plant worker in CA, China, or India doesn't know he's farking over thousands of park/resort towns in CO.
//If he did, would he even care?
  • The problem with global warming klimate change zealots is that, no matter what the weather does, they always claim it fits their predictions. If it gets warmer, its global warming. If it gets colder, its klimate change. If it stays the same, its just weather. So, the question is -"what type of weather would disprove the klimate change/global warming alarmists and make y'all shut four farking mouths?" if the answer is,as i suspect, "there is no weather pattern that could disuade us and our legions", then ok, fine - you're a cult. Fair enough. If thats not the case, then please tell me what weather conditions would cause you to shut your farking so I can pray for it.
