  • Good--I hope he cleans their clocks after that crap they pulled
  • Well, he should.

But this is a separate issue than who I think was standing whose ground.
  • Agreed, sue these bastards.
  • I hear they ran an ad for Skittles.
  • "NBC saw the death of Trayvon Martin not as a tragedy, but as an opportunity to increase ratings."

Every news station sees every event with a catastrophe level below "9/11" exactly that way.
  • He wont win

I aint all that up on liable or defamation laws, but I do know it is insanely difficult for one to prove such.
  • "I do not know, because of my situation, how I will be able to provide for my wife and myself in the future so I expect NBC to be held responsible."

Translation: I farked up and NBC has deep pockets. I expect someone to provide for me.

    Yeah...no, it's not. It's a pretty straightforward case:

    1. Defendant published untrue statements
    2. Defendant knew they were untrue when they published them
    3. As are result of Defendant's actions, Plaintiff suffered damages.

That's basically it. And NBC had better open their checkbook before this reaches a jury.
  • NBC was only standing their ground.
  • it's cute how the conservatives in this thread are defending a racist murderer who is still set to stand trial for his crime.

Completely agree. And Trayvon Martin should sue George Zimmerman for bringing a handgun to a Skittles fight.

Oh, that's right, Trayvon is dead.
  • No George, you portrayed yourself as a racist and predatory villain, you racist and predatory cocksucker.

In this case, it's called "false light defamation." NBC purposefully edited the 911 tape knowing that it would make it look like he told the operator Trayvon was black without reason.

One can detest Hitler and still recognize that he was probably the greatest public speaker of the 20th Century

Zimmerman's own actions speak louder than anything any news outlet could say. I saw the jizz on Hannity's chin, but even that interview went badly for George.
  • I've been stockpiling popcorn for when this goes to trial.

    1. NBC played the 911 tape.
    2. Without informing anyone, NBC edited the tape to make Zimmerman sound more racist.
    3. Zimmerman now suffers more greatly in the media and the tape will make it less likely for him to find an impartial jury.

except.. that isn't what they're doing. they're claiming that he has a libel case against the media for saying that he's racist.
  • Make NBC pay for his legal defense team, which they made him need.
  • ZAZ: which they made him need.

    WAT?

A: He does have a case.
B: I was simply saying how one can disagree with someone's actions but not condemn every single thing about them. NBC farked up big time on this and did make him look worse.

Shooting somebody that's beating your face in isn't racist.

Now, if you said something like, "He looks suspicious... he's black" right before the shooting, yeah, you'd look like a farking racist, which is what NBC aired.

What actually transpired on the 911 call was:
    Z: "He looks suspicious."
O: "Is he white, black or hispanic?"
    Z: "He's black."

Or something really close to that.

NBC knows they f*cked up. They already fired everybody responsible for the SNAFU. Zimmerman has a solid libel case here.

Keep it up, let's make that word meaningless, the 'tards who cried racism.
