Rincewind53: Bathia_Mapes: Wish I could be there to cheer them on. :-) The City of Seattle retweeted you!
Rincewind53: Hahaha one of the new couples with three kids, the older sister pointed at the younger brother and said he likes Twilight. Way to sell out your brother!
Miss Stein: Bathia_Mapes: Wish I could be there to cheer them on. :-) I ought to be down there cheering them on, but instead I'm in my warm robe, drinking coffee, with a pug asleep on my lap. But I'm there with them in spirit.
quatchi: WooT! ^__^ Good times are good! This is what moral evolution looks like, kids. Glad someone brought a camera. That all cheerfully noted, I still really don't get the rice thing. Why rice, why throw? What this is, I don't even... This has always confused me but somehow never enough to ever bother googling for an answer. Anyone? Some animistic thing? Paganistic throwback perhaps?

quatchi: Bathia_Mapes: It's a symbol of good luck, fertility and abundance. Thanks, That makes more sense to me. As in "some". /Still filing 'rice throwing' under "people are weird". Rincewind53: Dan Savage's family is adorable Totes. Thanks for sharing that. Dan's 'Savage Love' column is still the first thing I hit up when I pick up a Georgia Straight newspaper and I'm very happy for him, his family and all the other families like him on this most auspicious and long sought day. Not sure which is making me happier at this moment the thought of all these newly married couples plighting their troths en masse with such obvious love or the thought of Frothy Santorum somewhere in his basement curled up into a fetal ball sobbing uncontrollably. Their both so good it's hard to choose.
