  • This is what happens when you abuse a convenience and the largesse of society.  What was allowed as a nod to convenient transportation of rifles was used as an intimidation tactic and political statement, and so the privilege was revoked.  Nice job.
  • Cry, subby. The nation is leaving you and your outdated ideals behind.
  • ftfa: "Controversy surrounded the bid to permit perhaps hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants to qualify for state driver's licenses. The new law applies to those given a work permit as part of an Obama administration program that suspends deportation for many people who arrived illegally as children."

How are you still illegal or undocumented if you have a work permit? Seems like that would move you into the documented category.
  • So CA must now be out of debt and flush with cash.

The same thing can be said for the giving of driver's licenses and financial aid to illegal aliens.
  • Just out of curiosity, have any of those coffee shops been robbed while people with unloaded rifles were hanging around?
Cause I'm failing to see the real urgency for a law there.

/and ditto on the illegal immigrants thing. Teenagers are more dangerous than licensed foreigners.
  • If it allows illegal aliens to get car insurance, then I'm all for it.

  • Why are they giving illegal aliens driving licenses and allowing them to qualify for state tuition? Why not work on either having them become legal residents or citizens, then you can, you know, tax them, and spend less money on deportation and processing. Or just deport them.

Are they going to deport illegals with driving licenses and those currently enrolled at a state school? If not, then doesn't that seem like a loophole, they're still illegal? If so, doesn't that seem like a waste of money to give them access to these resources, only to kick them out?
  • and you can't get into a "coffee-shop" at all in the nederlands any more, unless you're dutch... god damn it all, world!
  • Don't Troll Me Bro!: Cry, subby. The nation is leaving you and your outdated ideals behind.

The nation is also sixteen trillion dollars in debt, and spent 1.1T more in 2012 than it received. Don't call one side stupid while your side is engaged in autoerotic asphyxiation.
  • No me gusta illegal immigrants.
  • Again, I'm so glad I don't live in California.

/or New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts
  • Not sure why you need your rifle at Starbucks. Also not bothered by licensed drivers.

You apparently got what you want and yet you sound so buttfrustrated.
  • FTFA:   The courts have been enlisted in a dispute over a new law prohibiting the practice of "conversion therapy" on minors in an effort to change their sexual orientation from gay to straight. Judges have disagreed over its merits, but a federal appeals court has blocked the law from taking effect.

Hard to believe this didn't pass with that contentious mass of laws, it sounds positively Victorian.

It helps maintain an underclass of people who will work for pennies.

Practicality. Why treat residents of your state as criminals simply because they bypassed a racist and hideously overlong immigration process?

    You poach Stardoes, don't you?

Because people may have started to realize that this is not a problem that can be solved with "deport everyone" and has more grey areas like "illegal immigrant that was brought here as a child with no real understanding of what the implications are".

We might actually be approaching a real compromise to the problem, but not without one or two great derps to come out of it. And those derps shall be great and terrible.

You do know the difference between a government and a business, right? Governments can run in the red.
  • you can always trot on over to Nevada if you need your extension gun always out for everyone to see.
  • taxandspend: I'm more worried about the teenage girl texting on her phone while doing 80 on the 210 than I am of an illegal alien running me over.

Illegal aliens kill many more people in CA with car crashes than texting teens.

    Overly long? Possibly.
    Racist? No.
