  • That's... actually pretty cool
  • It's only gay if the sticks touch.

    /I think that's what I heard
  • The post-goal stick exchange is yet another example why I love hockey.

I thought that exchange was hilarious, as if the scorer said the opposing player was hoisted by his own petard, with the opponent conceding that he had indeed been so.
  • This actually happened to me once. Pivotal moments of an intense game of broomball. My fiberglass anglebroom gets knocked out of my hands. I knock the little girl over to get my hands on her weapon of choice... and it's a swiffer duster.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw the video. And Strome holding the stick up in the air the way he did in the celebration was a giant "fark you" to the D-man (as if scoring with his stick wasn't enough of one).
  • Good, those London Knights are full of cheaters.  The last time they faced the Firebirds, their goalie kept kicking the net loose, had a power play goal taken away from the Firebirds.  Then later they got to keep an offsides goal.  There's all sorts of cheats going on in the OHL.  I don't recall the team, but one player kept falling down, pulling at a Firebird as he went down, trying to create a power play.

But the Otters, they're just good.  Last time I saw them play the Firebirds, it was sad, just sad.  They played again last night, our team lost 0-4.

/granted we also heavily blame the refs for those bad calls at that Knights game
//Firebirds should've had them 4-2 in regulation, instead it went 3-4 after shootout
  • Hopefully the kid gains a few pounds and gets back to Arizona.
  • I like the part when just before the stick exchange, he taps his own player and indicates "Watch this".  He knew he was virtually giving the other a face wash and wanted everyone else to notice.

And he'll likely have Jalen Smereck of the Firebirds as his defenseman.  Smereck has improved a bunch this year, really picked up aggressively attacking the puck.

/granted if the Coyotes are still in AZ next year.
