    Gary FARKING Sanchez~!
  • Good god do I want him on the White Sox. Was really hoping to trade Quintana for him, but I'm still happy with our haul this winter.
  • pitchers will figure him out more this year.  to what extent is the question

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH no.  The Yanks weren't going to give him up UNLESS you gave them the farm...and even then they would've still said NOPE.

Can't blame them. A guy hits 20 HR in so few games, you only want to see what he can do with a full season. I'm very curious myself. It would be a shame if he was cheating though.

Even if he slumped a bit that would be ok with me just so he can get used to the ins and outs of a full season.
  • When the scoreboard is 1/2 of the outfield that's just called a regular BP homerun.

Now he hits one OVER that scoreboard?   Then we'll talk.

The Yankees are confident enough in him that they traded away McCann.

Once he started doing his thing McCann became a trade asset the Yanks were going to use in the offseason.

Sanchez will either be a Piazza-type that can catch and still produce at a high-level or they'll do what the Indians did with Sanchez and turn him into a 1B to enlongate his career.

oh, i'm not saying he's not going to be at solid player, just that some people seem to be projecting out last years totals over the season so he'll hit 300 and have 50 homers

they need to make way for the kids coming up as they are ready.  and as much as fans may not like the results, they need to play them to get shiat together even if they have a poor season as a team.  mccann was in the way now, and while they didn't get much, they don't have to pay him to be a roadblock

I hope you mean that Piazza comparison only in the context of offense. Because Sanchez is already pretty good with the glove with the potential to be fantastic. Teams already know not to run on his arm, he seemed to call a good game, and he's surprisingly agile behind the plate for a guy his size.

I realized after reading that again, you did seem to mean Sanchez can play defense. My bad.
