  • I feel like an asshole spending $5 a month for what is now a Twitter mirror site. I don't have Twitter on my phone for a reason. Come on, Drew, can you at least consider looking at some way to separate the wheat from the chaff; the sh*t from the shinola?

Ass-u-me-ing you read the full post I would still figure this may be news worthy for discussion.

/hint  its not what you see(m)
  • Let's look at the wording:

ADDITIONAL SOURCES 4/ Is this related? Don't know. But it a) doesn't fit established patterns [CITATION, PLEASE] and b) involves key players in the theory of the case, and so must be looked at seriously by Mueller and Congress [editorialization]. Maybe Mueller asked Jared about it 2 weeks ago. [conjecture].

It's not news until you have at least one or two other journalists on it, making sure your declaration is credible, and an editorial staff that would never run the story because it's irresponsible to do so without concrete evidence.

I want to see trump fry and squeal like a pig, but not at the cost of a free press with high journalistic standards. Twitter is what the 4th Estate becomes when people only follow the people who reinforce their fear, hate, and delusions. Bad reporting foments cultism. Deep state! Fake News! etc. What good is a free press if nobody is held to a standard of accountability?

Twitter accounts are not news. Period. If you could go back in time to about 1968 and show Walter Cronkite the power of Twitter and Facebook, he would probably blow his f*cking brains out.

On the bright side ever since we've started linking heavily to Twitter the incidence of derptastic right-wing links has dropped precipitously. Not sure if there's a connection, but if there is one I'll take the trade off.
  • Can't Seth Abramson compile all his farking tweets into one user-friendly blog or some shiat even if he does Tweet it out?

2017 is bringing back all the hits from the '70s and '80s.
  • There should be some way you can tell if an article is a twit
A small picture or something would help
    (cries)
  • I looked all over for McFarlane's name, but saw it only in the Fark headline. What am I missing?
  • If you were playing as the US in an IRL game of Civilization you'd never do what the US is actually doing.

You could give it a poop tag.

I won't use Twitter as it's an intelligence operation aimed at undermining the United States' stability, but I've out of every 2,000,000 or so active Twitter feeds produces good info.

Seth Abramson's is one of them.
  • At this point I fully expect someone in the administration will be caught red handed handing over state secrets to a guy whose last name is literally Spyovitch.
  • Funny. I just watched "American Made" last night. If that's how you lot have been doing "business" since Korea, i'm left astounded and confused as to how in the name of Zeus' great big blue thundering butthole you survived the cold war.

As conspiracy theorists go, Seth has decent credentials and has been ahead of the game on the Trump investigation.   I think he deserves a pass on some minor admitted speculation as the story develops.  TV News does the same thing these days (unfortunately.)  Everyone wants to be first with a scoop and initial reports even on TV are scant on details and often wrong -- like the Boston bomber situation among others.

I hate the Twitter format, and I generally think Twitter is for twits;  but I've enjoyed Seth's investigative reporting and legal analysis.  If it were anyone else, I might say he's reaching in some cases, but he's experienced in legal investigations and his analysis so far has been uncannily accurate as others confirm his speculation time and time again.
